LigaTurf Cross at the “Complexe sportif Tuzelet” in Nueil-les-Aubiers, France
Meeting the (sporting) needs of two communes
The tranquil commune of Nueil-les-Aubiers is located in the western region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine near the Atlantic coast. The commune was created in 2001 by fusing Les Aubiers and Nueil-sur-Argent, which each had their own football stadium. Shortly afterwards, the new municipal council decided to merge the two communes’ football activities at the “Armand Tuzelet” site. Initially, the plan was to create a synthetic turf pitch for training and another pitch with natural grass.
Because it was assumed that athletic activities on the grounds would be intensified by the presence of the synthetic turf pitch, it later became necessary to adapt the building complex, especially the number of changing rooms, to meet increased demand and comply with the rules of the French Football Federation. The “Armand Tuzelet” site has new become the “Complexe sportif Tuzelet”. Alongside the synthetic turf pitch, it also includes a tennis court and a hall for basketball, handball and football, and another hall for table tennis.
The pitch in Nueil-les-Aubiers has been fitted with our Polytan LigaTurf Cross synthetic turf, which combines smooth and textured filaments. In Nueil-les-Aubiers, the players of the “Nueillaubiers” football club rely on the tried-and-tested quality of our LigaTurf Cross synthetic turf system, presumably while keeping a close eye on nearby Nantes, which is always interested in talent from the local area. After all, FC Nantes has won eight Ligue 1 titles. The club was once home to Didier Deschamps, who won the World Cup and European championships with the national team and later won the World Cup as coach of the French national team: an impressive feat that has otherwise only been achieved by Mário Zagallo (Brazil) and Franz Beckenbauer (Germany).
