Europe’s fashionable new pastime is a racket sport: a high-speed mixture of squash and tennis, played by four players in a cage made of safety glass, the walls of which can be incorporated in the game. Although it is still relatively new to Germany, padel is rapidly growing in popularity.
A SPORT FOR EVERYONE
The surface of a padel court is usually made of synthetic turf, which is installed on a hard substrate and sprinkled with fine quartz sand. It is important that the surface is level to ensure that the ball bounces evenly. As a result, the ball is constantly in motion, flying from opponent to opponent at incredible speed. For experienced players, this results in relatively long and often spectacular playing sequences. The ideal artificial turf system was developed by Polytan in collaboration with athletes and operators of padel courts, where not only the artificial grass was crucial, but also the appropriate substructure.
