Incredibly robust: Synthetic turf for rugby and football
The port city of Gdynia is only a few kilometres away from Gdańsk and is one of the largest cities in Poland, with around 250,000 inhabitants. The prosperous economic hub on the Gulf of Gdansk is regularly listed near the top of the rankings for urban quality of life. Watersports of all kinds are among the most beloved leisure activities in the city. Football and rugby are also extremely popular. The city boasts five football clubs, while the rugby club RC Arka Gdynia currently plays in the first Polish league and even won the European Regions Cup in 2005.
The rugby players hold their home games and training sessions at the “Narodowy Stadion Rugby”, the National Rugby Stadium in Gdynia. It is the first stadium in Poland that was built specially for rugby. Currently, however, it is not only used by the players of the men’s team, RC Arka Gdynia and the women’s team, Checza Gdynia, but also by footballers from Bałtyk Gdynia, as well as the reserve team and juniors of Arka Gdynia. In 2011, the stadium welcomed Pomeranian American football team, the Seahawks Gdynia. The fully covered stands offer enough seating for around 2,500 spectators. Under them are sports rooms, offices and leisure rooms, as well as catering facilities.
At this heavily frequented and intensely used stadium, we installed our highly robust LigaTurf RS+ synthetic turf system.
